Madison has been taking kids aerial silk classes at ArtFit Oregon since we opened in late February, 2024 and she advanced quickly to the kids intermediate/advanced silks class. Madison is extremely determined and no matter how much she struggles and how frustrated she gets; she will work diligently until she accomplishes a particular skill. Madison also loves to perform and she is extremely flexible and has beautiful clean lines that lends itself to gorgeous aerial silks poses. In fact, Madison’s hard work and dedication show up in her performances; she makes it look effortless and it looks like she is floating on air. Furthermore, Madison loves to demonstrate and help new students learn moves and she is helpful and support to everyone around her. It is an honor to have Madison in class.

Let’s learn more about Madison from her perspective.

My favorite artist is Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift. It is hard to pick a favorite song but one of my favorite songs is “That’s So True” by Gracie Abrams.

Silks is my favorite hobby. It helps me gain strength and it has an artistic aspect that I love. I also enjoy playing volleyball with my brother and friends.

My goal in life is to improve in aerial silks. Another goal I have is to go to cosmetology school and become a hairstylist.

3 awesome things about me: I am funny, hardworking and kind.

I first started aerial silks at ArtFit Oregon after Grace and Tracy brought me to an introduction in Yachats. I immediately fell in love with silks because it is both fun and rewarding.

I have gained many benefits since joining ArtFit Oregon. I have gained strength; I have made friends and I have learned many new things since starting aerial silks.

My biggest achievement in aerial silks overall is my first performance and learning my first drop.

I have faced many challenges from the start of aerial silks. For example, I have dealt with the challenge of not having enough strength to do a new skill or having trouble with a new move. But what has helped me with all of these things is the help from my coach Sharon Jones and all of my silk’s friends.

The most rewarding thing of all was learning my first rotation. After I learned my first rotation, I felt like I really accomplished something in my aerial silks journey.

Lastly, I want to thank my coach, Sharon, my best friends Grace, Peighton and Bella for helping and motivating me in aerial silks.
